From Nashville, Thom Donovan’s first single from ‘Canon’ entitled ‘Shipwreck’ is a collaboration with Wyclef Jean featuring guest vocalist Ruby Amanfu. The song, inspired by Arthur Brooke’s poem ‘The Tragicall History of Romeus and Juliet’ (1562), is a looping blend of treated classical guitars and an 808 drum machine.
‘Canon’ was mixed by Vance Powell (Jack White, The Raconteurs, The White Stripes) and mastered by Richard Dodd (Wilco, Tom Petty, George Harrison).
Thom (ex-of band Lapush) also writes for JMHB Music and Kobalt Music. His tracks frequently appear in popular TV shows, including The Good Wife on CBS and Body of Proof on ABC, and he also has a recurring role in the ABC musical drama series ‘Nashville’, as a musician.
