DJ Butcher - The Breaks (2014)

To mark the fifth anniversary of his re-edit imprint ChopShop, label owner DJ Butcher now presents his long awaited debut long player, "The Breaks". It's an ambitious project that took at least a year of deep digging, sourcing, remastering and editing. It was a labour of love of course, and this album has clearly been crafted with lots of love - with plenty of newly restored and delicately tweaked rare '70s funk gems, including the much-sampled bassline of "That's Right", the laser-tom drum assault of "Disco Owl" and the spacey Californian yacht rock of "Breakdown".
