To date the artistic output of copeland, also known as Inga Copeland, has been hard to pin down: she’s best known for her work as one half of Hype Williams alongside Dean Blunt, though that partnership ended last August, when a statement appeared on copeland‘s SoundCloud page stating that they were “no longer affiliated.” She’s put out a couple of solo records as Inga Copeland, and has appeared on records from The Bug and DVA. She’s also slated to appear on Martyn’s forthcoming album, but before then she’ll self-release her own debut LP, Because I’m Worth It.
The LP features eight new compositions from the artist. She’s not going it alone all the way through, however, as the song “advice to young girls” is co-produced with avant-electronic producer Actress.

That the album’s title shares its phrasing with a popular shampoo slogan is not lost on the artist, as the final song is called “l’oreal.”
