AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY tells the dark, hilarious and deeply touching story of the strong-willed women of the Weston family, whose lives have diverged until a family crisis brings them back to the Midwest house they grew up in, and to the dysfunctional woman who raised them.
The Soundtrack features a song by the hugely popular American indie folk band Bon Iver from their Grammy-nominated album Holocene. Also included are Eric Clapton's “Lay Down Sally” and Billy Squier's “The Stoke”.
Gustavo Santaolalla, the composer of the soundtrack, is best known for his work writing movie scores and producing albums. He is also the founder of the alt-electrorock-tango band, Bajofondo.
As a composer, he has won two Academy Awards® for Best Original Score for his work on Babel and Brokeback Mountain, for which he also won a Golden Globe® Award. He has won two Grammy® Awards as an album producer: Best Latin Pop Album for Juanes’ La Vida...Es Un Ratico and Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album for Cafe Tacuba’s Cuatro Caminos.
